Do a Backflip! It Will Make You Happy!

Posted by piphunt on February 22, 2011 in Adventures of Pip, skiing

Yes, backflips can equal happiness; or at least that silly, butterfly rushing, I’m-upside-down-and-now-I’m-not, giggling kind of moment. Flippy things? Well, it was Carston’s advice after all. And if anyone is the king of flippy-spinny-things at Alta, it’s definitely Carston. Somedays, I just need another reason to smile. I know, it just snowed 34″ inches and …read the rest

Ski Salt Lake Shootout

Posted by piphunt on February 10, 2011 in Adventures of Pip, skiing

It’s 6:45 at the Goldminer’s Daughter. Carston Oliver, Tony Pavlantos, Lee Cohen and myself are waiting for first chair at Alta for the third day of the Ski Salt Lake Shootout. We bailed on Cardiff this morning due to a late start and tired bodies. Two full days of hiking, skiing, and shooting has left …read the rest

G.N.A.R.

Posted by piphunt on January 18, 2011 in skiing

Gnar, a little word hugely overused in the ski industry. Maybe that guy next to you in the tram is only throwing out gnar every other word to mock you and your skittle friends, or maybe he really is getting rowdy.  Who knows. As G.N.A.R. reminds us, what’s most important is having fun. Yes, skiing …read the rest

Posted by piphunt on January 8, 2011 in skiing

Tonight was the first Slug Games of 2011 at Park City Mountain Resort. I joined up with the ladies from SheJumps to judge the skiers jibbing on Slug Magazine’s custom setup. Props to PC Park crew for creating a sweet set up! I haven’t watched park nor set foot in a park in about two …read the rest

I’m excited to announce that this year I have joined forces with Marmot to represent their women’s outerwear line. A Fresh Prospect

Posted by piphunt on November 12, 2010 in Adventures of Pip, skiing

The snow is falling, I’ve got two days of skiing under my belt, and the  stoke is high at Alta. But instead of getting my competition schedule and setting my clock for registration, I’m looking in the opposite direction. This season, I won’t be throwing myself down solid venues searching for a line score and …read the rest

I Get By With A little Help From My Friends

Posted by piphunt on November 9, 2010 in Adventures of Pip, skiing

Jen is one of those people who can always put a smile on my face. Whether we’re skiing, shopping or just hanging out sipping on coffee, she has an incredible grasp on life. I often forget that we’re the same age; her motivation, priorities, and lifestyle are beyond her 24 years.

Motivation

Posted by piphunt on October 26, 2010 in Adventures of Pip, skiing

Sometimes we all need a little bit of motivation. Luckily, I am surrounded by incredible people, both in the Salt Lake City area and through my sponsors. Before the snow really settles in, I’m searching out the people in my life who inspire me, whether it’s through personal, interactive moments, reading a story about them, …read the rest
