Salmon Burgers
I had never thought about making salmon burgers till I saw a recipe for them on Elana’s blog over the summer. I made the recipe from her blog (without adding or substituting anything!) and it was absolutely delicious. I rarely find myself in a pinch for meal ideas, but after working the 9-5 and coaching at the gym last night, I was spent for ideas and had no desire to go to the store and pick anything “extra” up. There is more than enough food to whip something up in my fridge! I checked the pantry and found the can of salmon, eggs, sesame seeds, but *gasp* I was OUT of almond meal!
Time to get creative: Whole30 salmon burgers, sans almond meal and tamari. Turns out, they were YUMMY!

Salmon Burgers: Made 4 burgersĀ
What you will need:
A big mixing bowl
Spatula
Medium frying pan
Ingredients:
1 large can of salmon (or grid fresh salmon, but like I said, we were in a pinch!)
2 eggs
1/2 cup sesame seeds
handful of cilantro, diced
3 garlic gloves, diced
1/2 yellow onion, diced
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon ginger
salt to taste
Methodology:
Open can of salmon and pour into the bowl, make sure you debone the salmon (if you need to) before you mash it all together (don’t be a ninny and find yourself picking bones out after, trust me, it’s way more difficult).
Crack two eggs and mix into salmon.
Add all of the other yummy ingredients, mix, and form into patties. Go on, get your hands dirty.
Fry on a medium heat in coconut oil, about 3-4 minutes on each side or until well browned. Serve with sliced avocado, and a big salad!
