Tight Spots
I train hard. I play hard. I work hard. I eat, a lot. I do little in moderation, and generally abuse, overuse and exhaust my body daily. I eat frequently throughout the day to keep my energy going, and try to catch seven hours of sleep a night. But no matter what I put in my body, it’s hard to keep the aches at bay. We all know that stretching is good for us. That we should keep our hamstrings and hips loose, that our upper backs will hurt just a little less if we allowed those muscles to relax. Yet, despite this knowledge, we’re walking around like a bunch of close hipped old folks at 25. We’re not doing ourselves any favors.
Despite dabbling with yoga and stretching here and there, I too am guilty of skipping the stretching session at the end of a workout. This week, my goal is to get back into the habit of stretching and working on mobility work outs. This hip opening wod is one of my favorites so far.
