600 inches later…..
The last two weeks have seen nothing but absurd amounts of snow falling from the sky, winter storm warnings, and people calling in sick with a rare form of hundred-inchalitis. My legs are crushed, my abs are throbbing, my calves feel as if I walked the Vegas strip in a pair of hooker heels and yet I can’t say no. It just keeps on getting better. With over 150″ inches since I returned from Kirkwood, it’s not looking too much like April, and I’m definitely racking in my best pow day day after day after day. Yesterday was the deepest yet; terrifyingly deep, leaving me gasping for breath, choking on snow, and laughing the whole way down the mountain. Today it went blue for the first, time… well, in a very long time, Molly and I joined Steve Lloyd for a trek up to Little Superior for the 2nd deepest turns of my life; it’s a little hard to smile in my pow turns when I’m choking it’s so deep. After crushing it Ski Salt Lake Style on the north side of the canyon, we headed to Grizzly Gulch for some more pow turns, only to get shut down by the hot April sun. The snow was baked, my face is baked, pretty much an amazing day.
I also went out with Heni from Rage last Friday for some storm shots in Grizzly Gulch. It was an awesome experience just to go out with those guys and a huge opportunity to meet them. Despite my tree jibbing attempt not working out too well (I more skinned the poor sapling than tapped it), I think it was pretty successful day overall! Here are some pics from the storm….catching them slowly before my camera finally dies!
