Angeli Vanlaanen wins PC World Cup!

My amazing friend Angeli Vanlaanan won her first major pipe competition two days ago, 31st January at the Park City World Cup. Angeli has always boosted out of the pipe, and her huge amplitude with both right and left 5′s, a corked 5 and a big 720 on her last hit secured her first place spot.
Angeli and I went to New Zealand in 2008 where she got 3rd in the NZ Open Slopestyle. I’m so stoked to see Ang kill it in a pipe comp!
Apart from the World Cup I have spent the work shooting with a few different photogs. Jarrod Ishkanian from Snowbird set me up with earlier this season, and we headed over to Solitude to escape the powder panic of Little Cottonwood Canyon. We had a great day of shooting and exploring one of my favourite areas to ski. Solitude is one of the most peaceful ski areas I’ve ever been to, and Fantasy Ridge offers some of the gnarliest lines inbounds in the U.S., and causes constant tangents to my train of thought. Unfortunately, another high pressure system has hit the Wasatch and left us nothing but buttery corn snow. It’s Februaury 2nd and I’m left dreaming of winter once again…
