Back to the Mountains!

Posted by piphunt on December 9, 2008 in Adventures of Pip, skiing |

I’m a little late posting about my epic past week of skiing, but it’s been so good I just haven’t sat down at my computer much! I returned home last Tuesday night to snowfall in the valley, my awesome roomies, and a very empty room (that was quickly filled with all my stuff!). The week has been filled with dance parties, skiing, more dancing, singing, catching up with my loves, and getting back to work at the Paris.

My room mate Molly and I woke up early the next morning to meet up with Tyler and Connie at Alta, pick up my pass, and go SHRED! And what a day of shredding it was. Hands down the BEST first day I’ve ever had!  Total hero snow! It beat skiing the white ribbon of death at any I-70 resort anyday. We skied everywhere, the kitty, High Boy, High T, Little Crested Butte, it was EPIC!

One of my favourite parts of the new ski season is meeting up with all my friends I haven’t seen last April, and after being in California for three monthes, it was even better this year. My second day at Alta was Bluebird with an absolutley ridiculous posse, Molly, Cody, Carston, Hannah, Vanessa P. Vanessa A., Greg, Stifter, Kaitlin, Todd. We shredded Alta all day and it was awesome. Although we nearly took out some tourists, Cody and I had a close call on a Sugarloaf lap, and Kaitlin had a bit of a run in with a tree, it was a pretty mellow day.

I’ve also pulled the classic SLC double, mountain bike in the morning and ski in the afternoon, and gotten my first day of shooting under my belt as Re took some pics of Molly and I this morning with all the freshies that fell during yesterdays big storm! Winter is finally here! It was even cold today, maybe not Crested Butte cold, but I think Cali made me a little too soft for that just yet…..
